John Barras - Pub/Bar in York

Back in 1770, John Barras, a wealthy home brewer of Whickham, started a brewery in Gateshead. His son, John Barras Jnr, took over The Tyne Brewery in 1884 and established Newcastle Breweries in 1890. In 1994, the doors of the first John Barras pub opened.
